Growing up in a family of teachers I have first hand knowledge of the large amounts of money that our Teachers take out of their own pockets for the basic supplies needed to teach. This is why I filedHouse Bill 2137, the Creative Classroom Act, in order to give our teachers the resources that they need.
Our state needs to provide adequate funding for teaching supplies. We need to create an account that teachers can be reimbursed directly to allow them to be original and create fun environments for our children without sacrificing income that they have worked hard to earn. In all of my years managing a restaurant, I never had to stop at the grocery store to buy food to serve the customers. Why do we expect our teachers to shoulder the financial cost of teaching?
When you re-elect me in November of 2018, I will refile this legislation and continue to push to help our public school teachers!
Prevent Government Interference
Because of the latest and greatest education program that comes out of our Federal Government, our teachers no longer have the freedom to focus on teaching our children how to learn and develop. Standardized curriculum has been injected and shall be measured by standardized testing. And while our teachers are saddled with the Standardized standards, they must create Individual Education Plans for the children who need help meeting the uniform standards.
We need to give our Missouri schools back to our Missouri teachers and let them teach our children again.
Parents deserve the option to choose!
